Jeep Cherokee - front- or all-wheel drive five-seater crossover. The fifth generation of the model (KL) debuted in March 2014 at the New York Auto Show. January 2018 Detroit Auto Show premiered restyled version. In terms of dimensions, the Cherokee ranks between the Compass and Grand Cherokee models.
Cherokee is available in Latitude (Longitude in Europe), Latitude Plus, Altitude, Trailhawk, Limited, High Altitude and Overland, which differ in decor and equipment.
The restyled version has got completely new headlights in the style of a crossover Jeep Compass second generation, and also received other bumpers, taillights and a modified fifth door with a platform for a license plate (on pre-styling version "number" is placed on the bumper).
However, Jeep did not manage with only one design correction. The power structure of the body was also modernized: the share of high-strength steels was increased to 65%, and the tailgate is now composite. The result of the improvements was an increase in safety in case of an accident and a reduction of 90 kg in vehicle weight.
The following engines are installed on the American Jeep Cherokee in a restyled version:
gasoline MultiAir 2 Tigershark with a volume of 2.4 liters (184 hp and 230 Nm)
petrol V6 Pentastar with a volume of 3.2 liters (275 hp and 324 Nm)
2.0-liter petrol turbo four (274 hp, 400 Nm)
All motors are aggregated with a 9-speed "automatic".

The European versions of the model, like the American ones, are equipped with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
The 2.4-liter Longitude version and the 3.2-liter V6 Cherokee Limited are equipped with an Active Drive I all-wheel drive transmission with a clutch in the rear wheel drive. And the Trailhawk modification with the same V6 engine is equipped with an Active Drive Lock transmission with a reduction gear and a rear differential lock.
For the crossover, new UСonnect color multimedia, premium acoustics, as well as modern security systems are available, including blind spot monitoring systems, frontal collision warnings, and a moving object detection system, which is designed to warn the driver in advance about obstacles when reversing. Seven pillows and a system of exchange rate stability put Jeep Cherokee already in the "base".
