Jeep Wrangler 5dr - rear-wheel drive SUV with a connected front axle. The current generation of the model, which became the third in a row, was introduced in 2006.
In 2010, the car went through a planned upgrade. The atmospheric gasoline 3.8-liter V-shaped six was replaced by a completely light-alloy engine with a volume of 3.6 liters (284 hp and 347 Nm) with a cast-iron cylinder block. Compared to its predecessor, the unit has become 40 kg lighter. In addition, the archaic four-band “automatic” has given way to a five-speed transmission.
The base box for the Wrangler is a six-speed manual, and the list of available engines, in addition to the gasoline engine, also includes a 2.8-liter turbodiesel (200 hp and 460 Nm).
In addition to fresh powertrains, the 2010 update also gave the model a better interior, the materials of which have become more pleasant not only to the eye, but also to the touch.
The car is offered in three versions: Sport, Sahara and Rubicon. All of them differ not only in the level of equipment and the quality of finishing materials, but also in their off-road capabilities.
The Sport package, for example, is equipped with an interwheel differential and a reduction gear, and for an extra charge, a rear differential lock. The Sahara version additionally receives reinforced axles. The most off-road version of the Jeep Wrangler is the Rubicon modification, which, in addition to the corresponding body kit, has front and rear cross-axle differential locks by default, as well as a ground clearance increased to 260 mm.
Serial production of the model is established in the USA.
